How do I launch XR Animator?

There is a file called README.txt. Open it for launching instructions.

Is it free to download?

Yes, it's totally free to use! Download the latest release from the software page right here to get started!

What platforms does it support?

It has a website version for demonstration purposes, but the software can be ran via Linux or Windows.

Is it costly in any way?

Nope! There is no paywall unlike other software such as Live3D, Live2D to use this.

What models does it support?

MMD models packed in a compressed ZIP file, or VRM files (even VRoid Studio made ones too!)

How do I use my model?

When you start the software, drag your model into the window and then click "Start". The program will start loading up and you're good to go!

How can I enable my motion tracking?

This can be enabled by double-clicking the camera icon to turn on your camera (mirrored is recommended) to set the camera you wish to use. Then after you got it set up, double-click the motion capture to open settings to turn on Mocap bult in. You have to calibrate each time you open the software, and the recommended model is Google Mediapipe as it goes offline in case of internet black-outs.

Can I interact with my model when there's no tracking on?

Yes, 4 interaction points when double-clicking, social distancing (2m is 6ft), baseball, and a exploration game.

Is there a tray icon that comes with it?

Hell yes! A tray icon comes when the main executable starts. That is useful when you don't want to hide and show the UI.

I want to toggle UI visibility. How do I do that?

The key is "Escape". You must have the main app focused before you press it.
